Students currently enrolled in public or private school grades 9-12 are invited to submit published or unpublished work in any category.
Please take time to review the information below. The information listed below is the most recent and correct information. Do not use the information printed on the mailed poster. The below rules and forms for all entries are all listed on the downloadable
PDF 2010 Student Fee Form and Entry/Fee Form.
Make copies as needed.
Each student must complete a Student Fee Form listing all his or her entries.
Each entry will have its own Entry/Fee Form.
When entering work in more than one category or multiple entries within the same catagory, you must submit a separate Entry/Fee Form for each entry in the competition.

Entries for Illustration, Photography and Graphic Design Categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,.13, 14, 15, and 16 will be submitted and judged in digital JPEG file format. No slides or prints will be accepted for the competition. Each entry must have its own Entry/Fee Form.
JPEG entries must be submitted with resolution suitable for on-screen presenting and judging. Acceptable digital JPEG files range from around 700 x 900 pixels to 1400 x 1800 pixels. There is no exact size required, but our judges should be able to see your illustration, photography, and/or graphic design clearly. Important: File should be under 5 MB. Judges must be able to read any important text when viewing the file at 100% on screen. If your graphic design entry has small text relevant to the communication, you may submit a second image showing a close-up view of this text and name both JPEG images the same but add “close” after your initials in the file name (see file names below).
JPEG Entry File Names
Submit each category JPEG entry with a file name consisting of; category #,
entry # (1 for first, 2 for 2nd, etc.), first three letters of last name and 1st
initial of first name, school initials (example: ttc-lc for Tulsa Technology Center,
Lemley Campus). If you are entering as an individual student, use your school initials or for Home School use "hs" and your initials (example: hs-rs for Home School, Robert Smith).
For Example:
Entry 3_2_smij_ttc-lc.jpg is the 2nd entry in Category 3 for Illustration-Black & White-Digital Media from John Smith of Tulsa Technology Center, Lemley Campus.
Entry 15__4close_robs_mca-t.jpg is the close-up version of the 4th entry in Category 15 for Graphic Design Magazine from Sally Roberts of Metro Christian Academy, Tulsa.

Entries for Multimedia Animation, Music Video and Web Site Categories 10, 11, and 12 must be entered as an Internet link (URL) entry only, NO CD/DVD/E-mail attachments will be accepted. The contestant must host each entry, an internet link (URL) must be provided on the Entry/Fee Form to directing the judges to the entry. Internet link (URL) should be viewable by Firefox and Internet Explorer. The Genesis Competition is not responsible for non-working Internet links (URL’s). Any entry altered after deadline will result in immediate disqualification. Each entry must have its own Entry/Fee Form. See category details below:
Animation/Motion Graphics Category 10 Description
Design and build an original animation/motion graphic entry using “My Life” as
the theme. Animation/motion graphic entry must be a 3-5 minute run time. Any
animation/motion graphics software maybe utilized in the design and production,
e.g., Flash, Powerpoint, Maya, etc. An Internet link (URL) to Youtube.com is
acceptable. The animation/motion graphic entry requires 5 seconds of dead
airtime before and after play. Your name must be in the credits.
Music Video Category 11 Description
Design and produce an original music video with original lyrics and music. A
original music video entry must be 3-5 minutes in length. Any video editing
software maybe used in the design and production, e.g., iMovie, Adobe Premiere,
Final Cut, etc. An Internet link (URL) to Youtube.com is acceptable. The original
music video entry requires 5 seconds of dead airtime before and after play. Your
name must be in the credits.
Web Site Category 12 Description
Design and build an original website using “Alternative Energy” as your subject
matter. Website entry must be 4-6 web pages. Any web medium may be
utilized, e.g. Flash, HTML, Javascript, etc. Your name must be on your site. Site
must include a reference page of all sources used for the website content.

All student digital JPEG files from the school should be included on a single CD/DVD for submission as listed below:
Student entries are to be placed into individual "student folders" with the folders name as the student’s Last Name underscore First Name (Example: Smith_Robert). Each student entry (JPEG file(s)) should be placed in the students folder in its own "entry folder" using the name of the entry Category Name and Number (Example: 8_Photography_Color). If an entry is a multiple entry in the same category, add a number to the end of the folder name (Example: 8_Photography_Color_2) .

Each entry is evaluated on concept, execution and function. There is no set number of awards for each section. Best of Show is chosen from the Gold winners. Certificates of Merit are awarded at the discretion of the judges.
Please submit one inclusive STUDENT FEE FORM and ENTRY/FEE FORMS for all entries along with the payment. Please retain a copy for your records. The Genesis Competition cannot issue separate invoices.
STUDENT FEE FORM:
Please submit one conclusive STUDENT FEE FORM for each students entries and payment. Please retain a copy for your records. The STUDENT FEE FORM will serve as your receipt. The 2010 Genesis Competition will not issue invoices.
ENTRY/FEE FORMS:
Each entry must have its own ENTRY/FEE FORM. You may enter up to four pieces and the fee is $10 per person. Additional pieces can be entered for $2.50 each. All entries must be accompanied by STUDENT FEE FORM and payment. Entry fees are non-refundable.
We accept checks, money orders and bank transfers. NO CASH ACCEPTED. There are no additional handling or publication fees. Checks for the total amount of fees should be made payable to "OSUIT Genesis Competition". All checks must be in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank. Attach payment to the STUDENT FEE FORM and all ENTRY/FEE FORMs from a student enclose in an envelope. Group entries from schools should be packaged so each students entries are secured together.
Entrants grant the Genesis Competition the right to reproduce images of their entries in publications and media, sponsored or published by or on behalf of the Genesis Competition. Entrants grant permission to the Genesis Competition to exhibit and use entries at such times and ways, and as often as the Genesis Competition deems advisable. Entrants also agree to hold the Genesis Competition harmless of any claims whatsoever, including but not limited to copyright infringement claims that may be made against it because of any such presentation.
Please pack your entries carefully so they arrive in perfect condition for judging. The Genesis Competition cannot return entries. Do not send original works.

Names of winners will be published on the web and in regional newspapers after the awards ceremony. There is no limit to the number of winners in a category.
2010 Genesis will conclude with a special celebration at OSUIT Friday, April 9, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. The event will include a memorable dinner reception and awards presentation. All entrants, teachers, judges and families are invited to attend this special event.
