5th Annual Genesis Competition
Talented young artists from 3 states entered the 2008 Genesis Competition sponsored by Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee's Visual Communications division. High School aged students submitted entries from Adair, Canadian Valley Technology Center, Cedar Vale, Central Technology Center, De Soto, Deerfield, Dove Science Academy, Elkins, Evangelistic Temple School, Fort Gibson, Glenpool, Greenwood Christian, Home-school, Indian Capital Technology Center, Kingfisher, Lawrence, Locust Grove, Metro Christian Academy, Morris, Oklahoma Bible Academy, Okmulgee, Sapulpa, Scott Community, Spiro, Tulsa Technology Center -Lemley campus, Tulsa Technology Center-Sand Springs campus, Tushka, Victory Christian Center and Wellsville.
Judging the 5th annual competition were professionals Gale Venosdel, Littlefield Inc, Carly Sullivan, Littlefield Inc, Darshan Phillips, live4this, Mike Simons, Tulsa World, Brandy Simons, Freelance Photographer, Nick Robinson, Projek 23, Joel Driver, Family Net, Mike Wallace, Churchmultimedia , Kerri Franklin, MMT Student, Liz Knode, MMT Student.
2008 Awards Celebration
The 5th Annual Genesis Competition Awards Celebration was held Friday April 4th at 6:00 p.m. in Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee's Hospitality Services State Room. Numerous entrants, winners, teachers, judges, and families attended this special event. The evening began with an elegant dinner presented by Hospitality Services Division students under the direction of Chef Robert Sherill and Chef Jason Marsh. After dinner, guest speaker Liza Wenzel, Owner of Wenzel Design in Tulsa Oklahoma, presented a sampling of work produced by her design studios creative team. The Awards portion of the ceremony was highlighted with a multimedia presentation of the award winning work while awards were being presented.
Names of the winners and images of the Gold and Silver Genesis winners are posted on the 2008 Winners web page listed below. Winner's names will also be published in regional newspapers.

The 6th Annual Genesis Competition entry deadline is February 27, 2009. New entry materials and the poster will be available in the fall of 2008. All High-school aged students are encouraged to enter. Watch this website for details.
